Rumba
The dance of seduction. Rumba is the only
slow Latin-American dance.
Its origins are from Africa (brought to the
New World by the slave trade). It then
surfaced in its modern form in Cuba in the
1890’s, then went on to be further
developed into a more sanitized version in
America in the 1930’s.
